Climbing the Corporate Ladder? You should look good while At It. A Passion Project for a Fashion Brand That Empowers Modern Career Women.
Corporate Chic Co
When I imagined Corporate Chic Co, I saw it as more than just a brand—it’s a movement designed to empower career-driven women. Inspired by my admiration for women in corporate roles, I wanted to create a brand that supports and resonates with their ambition. I aimed for a design that blends professional style with the strength and authority these women embody.
This case study explains my process, detailing what I did and how it all came together.

Starting With Research
My idea revolves around the tagline, “Climbing the corporate ladder? You should look good while at it.” So, I started with research;
Do corporate women realllyy want to look good at work?
And if they do, what exactly are they looking for in their work clothes? Comfort? Style? Versatility?
How does this desire influence their clothing choices?
What type of brands do they look out for?
I knew I had to dig deeper, so I started researching.
User Persona
This led me to curate a user persona and target audience for the website, ensuring that I wasn’t designing blindly. For a corporate workwear female-only brand, i found that the target audience’s needs and wants are closely tied to their professional lives and aspirations. My research helped me develop the following user descriptions: detailed below
My Goals
With Emily Johnson’s persona in mind and taking into consideration the major goal of an e-commerce brand website—to drive sales—, Iset four main goals for the website:
What’s next?
I began finding inspiration and creating mood boards for the visual identity and overall look of the website. Here’s what I’ve settled on:
I wanted the site to feel like it was made just for Emily, so I went with a minimalist yet bold design. The color palette? Soft off-white for a touch of elegance, strong black for authority, clean white for clarity, and a bold red to highlight key features and spark that ambition we know Emily has.
I chose the Poppins typeface because it’s clean and modern, just like the clothes Emily loves. It’s professional but still has a bit of personality, which felt like the perfect match for Corporate Chic Co.
The Result
Next, I jumped into the fun part—designing! After a lot of work and attention to detail, I finally launched the site. It’s a space where women like Emily can find exactly what they’re looking for—stylish, high-quality workwear that makes them feel unstoppable.
What’s next?
As much as I love how this project turned out, I’m always looking to improve. For the next one, I’m going to focus more on user testing to make sure everything works perfectly for people like Emily. I’ll also be more proactive in gathering feedback to refine and enhance the user experience.
